Since its foundation in 1988, dctp, the DEVELOPMENT COMPANY FOR TELEVISION PROGRAM, has been a platform for independent producers in German commercial television.

According to the "publishers principle", dctp cooperates with the television departments of large print publishers (Spiegel, NZZ, SZ, Gruner & Jahr) as well as with BBC Worldwide.

The broadcasting slots licensed for dctp on RTL, SAT.1 and VOX are made available to the partners who produce materials for them, while they maintain complete editorial independence.
