"Since 1993 Visomat inc. from Berlin, work on the sound-reactive visualization of DJ-sets and electronic live sets. The first development was a manipulated television, that solely reacts on sound inputs. This so called visomat is used in the live video mix together with the video loops from tapes and from computer hard drives. The confrontation with techno and drum'n'bass led to the conviction that there has to be a new style of visualization in a strong relation to the music and its context. Digital abstract pictures correspond with the computer generated music-sampling. At the end of 1997 Visomat inc. built the first permanent VJ mix station in WMF-club in Berlin and provide the visuals of the weekly based drum'n'bass events (hard:edged). Recently they have been invited to festivals such as DEAF Rotterdam, EMAF Osnabrueck and SONAR Barcelona. Their further work includes video-installations and objects at parties, museums and theaters in different European cities and in the USA." from
